Real estate photography has been around for a long time, but the profession has always been about getting the job done.
Real estate photographers are getting the chance to do just that.
The Real Estate Photographers Guild (REG) has just announced that they have been awarded a $50,000 grant to develop a new business.REG’s website says: “We’re looking for an experienced real estate photographer who has a passion for the craft of photography.
We are looking for people who are passionate about the art of photography and who are interested in sharing their passion with the world.”
The REG is currently looking for three people to help develop the new business, which is expected to be up and running in time for the 2019 season.
In a statement, REG said: “As the REG we want to provide an environment for our members to come together and make a real difference in the lives of those in our community.”
The news comes after it was revealed last month that the NSW Government is looking to introduce a new rule for real estate photography to help prevent fraud.
The new rule would see the Government remove any potential liability for photographers who are “directly involved in the commission of a crime”.
A NSW Council spokeswoman said the new rule was not yet finalised and that they would have to wait until the new regulation is made clear.
“The proposed rule will not have any effect on the rights of property owners or the right of photographers to be in the property at the time the photo was taken,” the spokeswoman said.
“We understand that many of our members may be reluctant to risk their lives to photograph in public places.”
